Twisted Party Windows, Mac, and Steam Deck

Twisted Party is a Steam-only multiplayer party game. The store lists Windows and macOS. It does not list Linux. Steam Deck runs SteamOS, which is Linux. This page exists because “does it run on Deck?” is a launch-week search, and because older fan pages invented Intel Mac support that the store never offered.

Read this next to the official spec reprint. Specs are numbers. Platforms are the yes/no list. Both have to match or the night does not start.

Windows

Windows 10 is the floor. Minimum is an Intel Core i3, 2 GB RAM, a relatively modern dedicated GPU with Vulkan, broadband, and 500 MB of disk. Recommended is Core i5, 4 GB RAM, same Vulkan class. Integrated graphics are not the published floor. Vulkan is not optional flavor text. If your laptop cannot present Vulkan, you will not join a 2–8 lobby no matter how cheap the $4.49 launch cut looks.

Broadband is on the spec sheet because every session is online. There is no offline bot night. Family Sharing and Steam Cloud are enabled on Windows the same as on Mac. Sharing a library does not lower the GPU line.

macOS

Mac requires an Apple processor. Minimum is Apple Silicon M1 or newer, macOS 15, 8 GB RAM, 1 GB storage. Recommended is a newer Apple chip with 16 GB RAM. Intel Macs are out. That is stricter than many indie ports and it is why a 2019 Intel MacBook is not a Twisted Party machine.

Mac RAM at minimum is four times the Windows minimum. Plan for Discord plus a browser plus the game. Cross-play between Windows and Mac is implied by a shared Steam product; Vampire Squid has not published a separate “no cross-play” note. Private codes still work the same: one host, one invite string, mixed OS friends if both clients launch.

Linux desktop

Not listed. Do not treat Proton as an official mode. If you force it anyway, you are on your own for Vulkan layers, overlay crashes, and friends who cannot join because your build is a science project. This wiki will not publish a ProtonDB score we cannot see as a store badge.

Steam Deck

As of 28 August 2026 the Steam store does not show a Deck Verified, Playable, or Unsupported badge that this wiki can quote as settled. Deck is a Linux handheld with its own Proton stack. Twisted Party’s published platforms are Windows 10 and Apple Silicon macOS. A handheld in a couch is also a Wi-Fi device, and this game already had lobby black screens and Car Mode waits on disconnect during the 22 July 2026 playtest.

If your group includes a Deck, say so before you buy five copies. Test a private code for ten minutes. If Vulkan or proton fails, you have a Windows or Mac problem, not a “secret Deck preset.” Do not promise a friend that Vampire Squid certified the OLED model. They have not said that in the store copy we can cite.

Controller use on Deck would still go through Steam Input, same as a Windows pad. Controls will not invent Deck-specific face-button names. Music Hero is a click round; a trackpad is a worse clicker than a mouse. Bumper Car is turn-based push force, not a gyro racer.

What to tell the group chat

“Windows 10 plus Vulkan GPU, or a Mac with Apple Silicon and macOS 15. No Intel Mac. No Linux listing. Steam Deck is unverified — try a private lobby before you plan the night around it.” Then send How to Host and Fix Connection. Price and DLC sit on Launch. The five wheel games sit on the Mini-Games Hub.

Platform support is the boring half of a $5 party game. The interesting half still kills you in Blindshot. Get the OS right so the interesting half can happen.

Family Share, Cloud, and handhelds

Steam Cloud is on. Achievement skins travel with the account. A Deck, a Windows tower, and a Mac Mini can share progress if they are the same Steam user and they can actually launch. A Family Share guest on an Intel Mac still cannot launch. A Family Share guest on a Vulkan Windows box can play and will earn their own Sadman, not yours.

The Supporter Pack is cosmetic DLC. It does not add a Linux SKU. It does not add a Deck Verified tick. It does not reduce the Mac RAM floor from 8 GB. Check ownership on the account that will sit in the lobby, then check the OS, then check How to Host.

Launch-week reviews that mention “it ran on my laptop” without naming Vulkan are not a spec sheet. Launch-week posts that mention Deck without a screenshot of the store badge are not a certification. This wiki would rather send you away from a handheld night than invent a Verified label. If Valve or Vampire Squid later stamp Deck Playable, this page will say so. As of 28 August 2026, the honest line is Windows and Apple Silicon.
